Angie’s Gallery

Angela Von Hart (a pen name) otherwise known to the Palm View residents and staff as Angie Sosa or “Pipes” or “Songbird” is a long time resident of Palm View. Angela has Cerebral Palsy but you wouldn’t know it from talking to her. Angela is very talented. She once felt that she was considered part of the “silent minority” because of her disability. She doesn’t buy that anymore. Angela’s independence is admirable. She put herself through school and graduated from college all on her own volition. Angela has no extended family to support her, her husband was incarcerated and that is when she found Palm View, her home. Angela loves her husband and credits him as the inspiration that gives her the ability to draw, write, and compose, all talents that she will tell you she never knew she had in her until she came to Palm View. She does most of her art between the hours of midnight and 1am. The daytime is for enjoyment not work as she puts it. She came to me with her work and she came up with an idea to somehow share her work with not just the residents of Palm view but the Yuma community, and the staff here at Palm View. She hopes this gallery of her work lifts the spirits and inspires everyone who views it in some special way. We should all be so lucky to identify our true inner self and talents within. Please enjoy and share Angela’s great story and works of art.
